The History of Iti Hotels

ITI - Istituto Turistico Italiano was founded, as Soc. Esercizi Alberghieri Affini in 1921, and has its headquarters in Rome, in Piazza Montecitorio 12 in the prestigious Hotel Milano which, after a radical transformation in 1975/76 became the Colonna Palace Hotel.

The ITI HOTELS Group’s companies have diversified down the years and, in the residential tourism field, their main interests, which have found them also in the role of planners and builders of over 10,000 residential rooms, led them to consolidated their interests in the hotel business. Today the ITI HOTELS Group has 30 owned properties with a total of 10,000 beds, including those that are in the final stages of completion, of which 2730 are on the eastern coast of Sardinia, in particular on the Costa Smeralda, as well as in Rome and in South, Central and North America (Buzios in Brazil, Antigua in the Caribbean and Washington in the USA).

The ITI HOTELS Group properties are, in a nutshell, “from the producer to the consumer” as the company identifies the areas in which to develop properties, works on the projects and then proceeds with the financing and building, taking a series of rational steps aimed at providing quality properties for the holiday market in enchanting carefully-selected destinations and in prestigious hotels.

Today the ITI Hotels Group has 50 hotels around the world and is considered Italy’s leading hotel group as it has the largest number of self-managed hotels which, thanks to a tradition dating back to 1921, further underscores the eminent position the company can boast in the hotel business.
